A student made a decision to read the Bible, partly because she lives in the West where many spiritual discussions reference the Bible.  Her questions about the Bible prompted me to reread Mystic Christianity,a book that I read 25 years ago.  It is fascinating, because it looks at the New Testament and the Teachings therein from a well researched understanding based on history, language, and mysticism.  GIVES GREAT INSIGHTS INTO THE ROOTS OF CHRISTIANITY AND ITS CONNECTION TO OCCULT AND MYSTICISM.

FEBRUARY BOOKS OF THE MONTH: Author: Pema Chodron
When Things Fall Apart Heart Advice for Difficult Times
Taking the Leap
Two Books this month because each book is a small powerhouse of wisdom!

JANUARY BOOK OF THE MONTH:  Author:  Goldie Hawn    Title: 10 Mindful Minutes: Giving Our Children–and Ourselves–the Social and Emotional Skills to Reduce Stress and Anxiety for Healthier, Happy Lives

FEE:  $10.00 (bring a friend for free)
Teacher:  Samadhi

Do you like to read?  I do!  Novels take me on great adventures that expand my world.  Websites and blogs offer me seemingly infinite opportunities to explore and learn.  Authors who write books about life and their understandings of the divine human are some of my favorite teachers.

If you love to read, and if you seek to understand and expand your awareness please join me at Dharma Center once a month.  I will post a book, here, on the website.  The topics and teachings in the book will be discussed at the Book Club.  While it would be helpful if you read the book, it is not a requirement for attendance.

The Book Club will meet once a month–usually on the First Sunday. The 3- hour Book Club Retreat will help students reinvent meditation and mindfulness practices. (Beginning through advanced students welcome!) We will explore lessons from the Book of the Month and find practical ways to integrate the lessons into our lives.

    Hi Lynne,
Sounds great! I picked up Goldie’s book yesterday and haven’t gotten through much of it yet. I plan to attend tomorrow.
